TERRAZZO GraniTech Fine

A fine-grained seamless surface, velvety to the touch — for walls, floors, countertops and wet areas.

TERRAZZO GraniTech Fine is a seamless surface of natural granite and acrylic resin — the strength of stone, the flexibility of resin, in a patented, cement-free body that is waterproof even before sealing. It is applied by brush or trowel — onto new concrete for floors, drywall for interior walls, or over existing tile in a remodel — wherever the surface is smooth, stable and properly prepared. Interior rooms, showers and exterior terraces finish as one continuous plane — without grout lines, or with dividers drawn exactly where you choose.

TERRAZZO GraniTech Fine features a smaller grain size — a soft, velvety surface that stays smooth to the touch, sealed or unsealed. Depending on your sealer, the finish ranges from matte to gloss; depending on the hand that applies it, the surface can be elegantly smooth and consistent, or carry limewash-like waves. The complete system is just 1/8″ thick — the strength lies in the system, not the thickness.

The trowel writes the pattern; the finish sets the grain.

Every finish takes any movement — calm and modern to boldly artistic, monolithic and even, or high-contrast, with lighter and darker tones drawn from a single color. Here, you are choosing the grain.

Performance

  • Memory Resin Technology — the cured surface recovers from point loading rather than holding an indentation
  • Crack-resistant when installed over a smooth, stable substrate
  • Does not darken with prolonged water exposure
  • Resists water, coffee and oil staining

Application

  • Easy to apply, with a long working time
  • Single-component (1K) system — no separate bags and buckets, no mix ratios to get wrong
  • No lap lines between passes

On site

  • Doesn't go off in the pail — reseal and come back to it weeks later
  • Stable for up to 12 months after opening, resealed
  • Repairable in place — the more movement in the finish, the less a repair reads

Measured in our workshop at ~1 mm applied thickness per coat — 1/8″ total system thickness. Actual coverage varies with substrate and technique. The materials calculator applies these rates with a 10% waste allowance, or shop pails directly.

Applied by brush or trowel in thin passes over the system primer. Long working time; no lap lines between passes. Sheen — matte, semi-gloss or gloss — is set by the sealer. Full method statement in the installation instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

TERRAZZO GraniTech Fine is often chosen where a smooth microcement would be specified. It is not a microcement — it is natural granite in acrylic resin, entirely cement-free — but it covers the same applications and delivers the same aesthetic, without the cracking and darkening that cement-based systems can develop. Why TERRAZZO GraniTech →

Yes — Venetian plaster and Roman clay are smooth, troweled looks, and TERRAZZO GraniTech Fine delivers them in a cement-free system that is washable, UV-resistant, and rated for floors and wet areas as well as walls. The velvety surface stays smooth to the touch, sealed or unsealed.

Yes — and with fewer demands than tadelakt itself. Tadelakt keeps water out through its olive-soap treatment and needs regular resealing to stay that way; it comes from a time of bar soap and far less frequent showers. TERRAZZO GraniTech is waterproof before sealing, stands up to the surfactants in modern shampoos and cleaners, and needs no scheduled resealing. In showers, the system is installed over a waterproofing membrane, finished with the wet-area sealer. Tadelakt bathrooms, compared →
Yes — depending on the application technique, TERRAZZO GraniTech Fine can carry limewash-like waves through its smooth surface, in a washable, UV-resistant finish. For the classic brush-applied limewash effect, see Gaia, our limewash-look wall finish.

Yes — the small grain makes TERRAZZO GraniTech Fine the finish of choice for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities and built-ins: one seamless plane, smooth to the touch, finished with the sealer specified for stain and traffic protection. It is equally at home on floors, where it delivers a sleek, grout-free surface.

Yes — and not only side by side. TERRAZZO GraniTech Medium often works as the basecoat, with TERRAZZO GraniTech Fine added as the final coat by brush or trowel, so both grains stay visible in one surface and play against each other — a contrast unique to the system. Both take the same colors.
You are choosing the grain size — the trowel writes the movement on either. Choose TERRAZZO GraniTech Medium for the larger grain and visible mineral texture, TERRAZZO GraniTech Fine for the small grain — velvety, smooth, quiet planes. Undecided? Order a sample set — grain is a decision to make by hand.
